In most cases, a professional plumber can be trusted when in need of sewer repair. Replacement is a huge cost, and is unavoidable unfortunately. It’s important to note that before a property is sold, the owner has to report any potential issues to buyers, so it’s smart to get it taken care of and avoid any drama.

When it comes to an expensive repair like this, it’s important to shop around for the best deal. One should also make sure any contractor is bonded, licensed, and has references that can be checked. Expect most bids to be thousands so there is no shock.

History of Piping

First off, if there is any clay pipe it needs to be removed. Cleaning is never a good option and will only delay the inevitable which is replacement. A less brutal soil like sand allows for deflections to be removed but soil like shale is not so kind.

Further, proximity of utilities is an issue in some cases. The method used can damage other lines depending on how close they are to the action when the outer pipe is pushed away. No one wants gas leaks or cut water lines. Contractors must mark existing lines and formulate a plan to make sure there’s enough room for the installation.

Yet, trenchless sewer repair is still the most cost-effective and least disruptive method today. Simply taking care to verify the experience of any contractor before signing on the dotted line will make sure that it’s done effectively.

The chia seed has 2 kinds of fiber to help you: soluble & insoluble. In the case of low-fiber yogurt, a spoon-full of chia transforms it into a high fiber snack without changing the flavor.

Magnesium –

Walking With Ease

Pulling and dragging on the leash is probably one of the biggest problems for dog walkers and owners alike when it comes to walking our dogs. I am going to share with you 4 easy, well, maybe not so easy, tips that I use to accomplish something I like to call WWE, or Walking With Ease.

If your dog is full of hyper energy like some of mine have been in the past then you know fighting with them while on a walk can sometimes resemble a real WWE match. Not only can this be extremely frustrating for you walking the dog, but your dog could also be hurting itself in the process. Especially if you use choker collars, which in my humble opinion is a somewhat cruel way of getting your dog to do what you want. While following these instructions might be a lengthier process, I would encourage it as it will probably yield more satisfying results in the long run.

My first recommendation would be to enroll your dog into puppy training classes when they are still young. These classes work wonders with new puppies, teaching them how to behave in and out of the house and listen to your commands. One of the most important commands you will learn is "heel". For those of you who don't know what heel is, it's the command you use to get your dog to walk alongside of you, as opposed to dragging you along. If you are trying to teach your adult dog new tricks, do not fret. I have witnessed a number of older dogs who have benefited substantially from an attending a class. Maybe this is not your dog, even still, a class is not the only way to train your pet. In fact, learning this command is only the first step in training your dog to walk on a leash.

The next step, is all about you as the human controlling the leash. For this step, think of the leash as a direct connection between you and your dog, where they can literally feel everything through it. Because they can. What I mean by this is any anger, aggression or nervousness you feel is channeled through your grip on the leash and transferred from you to them. Doesn't it just amaze you how cool dogs are? Keeping this in mind though, it is important to stay calm and confident even when you feel like you are losing control. Also, try not to get angry at your dog, especially verbally. Patience might be hard for you at first, but practice building it over time. Believe it or not, the more relaxed you are, the more your pet will be in return, and the more likely they will be to follow your commands on a consistent basis. It is important that you have a mutual relationship built on love rather than just trying to dominate your dog through fear and punishment. This can lead to them rebelling or resenting you. A cool tip I learned to help with this is to change your viewpoint of the situation. Rather than thinking of it as wanting your dog to stop pulling (something that frustrates you) think of it as teaching them to walk calmly with you (more positive).

The next step in learning to walk with ease is developing a positive reward system to encourage the behaviors you like in your dog. For instance, when they correctly respond to heel, you should have a treat on hand to reward them. To start off, you will want to do this every time, gradually leaning them off so they learn to listen whether there is a treat waiting or not. Be sure to not only reward them for following explicit commands for you, but also for other behaviors that will benefit them. For instance, every time your dog yields to streets or traffic without you having to tell them to, be sure to reward that. You might even want to reward them a little extra for these safety habits. This way, in a situation where your dog gets away from you, they will be trained to avoid cars with or without you there. A positive reward system reinforces the loving relationship between you and your dog over one of owner and owned.

Lastly remember to practice, practice, practice. I am not going to bore you with any cliché sayings, but we all know the importance of practice if you want to perfect anything. The same concept applies with your dog. In the beginning, they will try to continue to do their own thing, even with the reward system. But think about it, if you were trapped in one location all day and finally got to explore you would go crazy too! Walking your dog every day will desensitize them to that freedom, and they will learn that the same rules from home apply there. Once the reward system kicks in, use it over and over. Even if it is every half block or so that they walked with you instead of pulling you. As I said, you can wean them off over time once they get a hang of it, and you will be able to tell easily when that time comes.

Overall, this is definitely a process. And I do not want to lie to you and tell you it will be easy. But if you stick it out you will definitely be glad you did. There is nothing like a walking a well trained dog. When you and your pet really sync, you will even be able to walk them without a leash. But that is a lesson for another day. Whether you are dog walking for others or just taking your own dog for a walk around the neighborhood or park, get out there and practice your new skills!

Solar Flares, Electromagnetic Pulses (EMPs) and Faraday Cages – Surviving 2012

With the economy getting worse in all countries, some to the point of falling apart, it's becoming more important to have a backup plan in case of emergencies. If the entire power grid was wiped out what would you do for power? Even if you have plans of alternative energy through solar panels or wind generators the inverters would be fried unless you had a faraday cage. But what are the odds of that happening? Considering that an HEMP (high-altitude electromagnetic pulse) blast can be the size of an entire nation as big as the United States it's something that everyone should look at as a realistic situation.

What is an EMP and HEMP attack exactly?

An EMP attack with an electromagnetic pulse generated without the use of nuclear weapon is called an NNEMP (Non-nuclear electromagnetic pulse). The range of an NNEMP is extremely smaller than a HEMP because they require a chemical explosive as their initial power source. That being said we'll be talking about HEMP's since, as stated, they could be as big as an entire country. A HEMP attack is employed by launching a nuclear bomb (even a simple one) 25+ miles above Earth's atmosphere and detonating it. The pulse overloads all electronic devices (and batteries such as the one from a laptop will be "shorted"). If this were to happen and a nuclear bomb was launched ~ 30 miles above the atmosphere of the United States and detonated above Kansas it would take out ALL electronic operations in the entire US The same kind of reaction is possible with a solar flare (it has the same geomagnetic storm as an E3 area of ​​a HEMP).

But you have a backup plan for your power source?

Unless you have your inverter in a Faraday cage it will be fried along with transformers and power lines. ANY electronics not protected WILL be destroyed. (Whether or not you have a surge protector or if they're not plugged in a socket).

Solar Flares:

A big concern with EMP's are with solar flares, but why is that? A severe solar flare has a similar geomagnetic storm to an E3 area of ​​a HEMP. Solar flares happen every day and in most cases it takes less than a day to reach Earth (sometimes only 17 hours). If your entire city was told you had 17 hours until a solar flare might destroy your city's power for a few weeks would you be prepared? Or more likely you wouldn't have a warning (like the province of Quebec on March 13).

How can you protect against a solar flare / EMP? One of the more trustworthy methods is a Faraday cage.

What is a Faraday cage?

A Faraday cage or Faraday shield is an enclosure formed by conducting material or by a mesh of such material. Such an enclosure blocks out external static and non-static electric fields. Two things to remember is a Faraday cages HAVE to be grounded and there can't be any gaps in the protective material. Even though a Faraday cage isn't fool proof it will increase the chance of saving your emergency electronics infinitely (since it WILL be destroyed if it's not protected). The higher the frequency of the EMP, the faster it is. If it goes too fast it will causes a burn out. This is why the cage must be continuously grounded and the openings in the mesh / material cannot be too large. If they holes in the mesh are too large then the magnetic pulse will manage to slip in. A simple Faraday cage would be to get a small box (or you could easily make the basic wooden frame of the box) and use very fine mesh (2×4 brass mesh sheets are fine) and stable the brash mesh on the outside of the box. Make a secured way to get in the box (a simple lid with hinges would work) and solder a ground wire to one of the corners and ground the cage. If you want to go the extra mile to protect against any type of EMP bury the box under a few feet (2-3 feet would work) of soil. You can place all your emergency battery operated equipment in it (remember to include batteries in the cage as well).

With a properly constructed Faraday cage you can most likely protect anything that was placed inside it from an EMP or solar flare.

IMPORTANT:

Electronics that are not properly shielded WILL be destroyed if they are hit with an EMP. It doesn't matter if they are plugged into the wall or not. (There have been rumors that say if your electronics are not plugged in the wall then it they will be fine. This is not true). A Faraday cage that uses only mesh or sheet metal can only shield against a magnetic frequency up to the RF range. Electronics nowadays are useful in the SHF, UHF and VHF range (such as your television). To efficiently protect your electronics from a EMP that is higher than an RF range you need some steel, iron or thick copper.

Holistic Approach to Cancer

The holistic approach to cancer is to boost a person’s energy and immune system, to adopt an alkaline (and not acidic) diet, boost our intake of nutrition through food and supplements, to greatly reduce stress and negativity and negative thinking (because this depletes energy and damages the immune system), to ensure cells have adequate oxygen (through deep breathing and hydration), to cut out refined sugars and starches and even natural sugar, harmful fats and processed and junk foods from the diet and to greatly reduce consumption of meat and dairy products. This will greatly reduce your consumption of sugar- which feeds cancer cells.

Cancer cells feed on a low oxygen, acidic body/ph level and on sugar (especially refined sugar and starches). So, the holistic approach is to avoid or greatly reduce sugar consumption, make the body/ph level alkaline and boost the body’s oxygen level. Drink water with baking soda and fresh lemon to make your body more alkaline.

Engage in deep breathing and drink a lot of pure filtered or spring water – at least 10, 8 ounce glasses per day. Meditate and go into nature often to boost your oxygen level.Use an ozone machine to boost the oxygen in your water. Eat an alkaline diet (primarily whole fresh organic and raw vegetables with a lot of green, leafy vegetables) and use ionic foot baths to make your pH level more alkaline.

The holistic approach also advocates to greatly reduce exposure to toxins in the air, food and water, and that we use natural products and filter our drinking water. Toxins damage the immune system and compromise its ability to prevent cancer. Iodine deficiency may result from toxicity and iodine helps to de-toxify the body. So, look into iodine supplements. Also, look into the consumption of seaweed and kelp that contain iodine.

De-toxify your body with the high nutrient diet below and a lot of filtered water with fresh lemon and lime along with milk thistle and dandelion supplements, clinatro and liver, kidney and colon herbal cleanse supplements and water with apple cider vinegar. For detoxification, eat primarily green leafy vegetables such as fresh organic spinach, kale and collard greens along with fresh, chlorella, avocado, cilantro and parsley (drink a tea that is steeped in a bunch of clantro and parsely). Drink warm water with Himalayan salt and lemon and take colloidal trace mineral supplements. Himalayan salt is fully mineralized. Minerals help cleanse the cells of stored toxins. Sugar and acid come primarily from processed foods, meat and dairy and other food products that contain saturated fats and trans fats. You want to adopt a diet that starves cancer cells. In addition, you want a diet that contains a lot of vitamins, minerals and anti oxidants to build up the body’s immune system and energy level to fight the cancer cells.

Meditation and deep breathing techniques are important to get the mind and body to relax and get us out of a state of stress and negativity. This along with emotional release visualizations, meditation and yoga will help release energy/emotional blockages that interfere with the free flow of energy in the body. When energy/emotional blockages are released and the body is relaxed, energy flows through it freely for good health and wellness.

Is Marijuana OK From A Spiritual Point Of View?

No, it’s not.

Now it’s possible that you didn’t want to hear that brief and definite answer. However, this negative response is not a vague bias. There are specific adverse effects that marijuana has on your aura and on your soul, and this affects your spiritual development. You won’t generally hear about these insights, because the people speaking about this topic, whether in favor or against, generally lack the subtle energy sensitivity to describe what happens to your energy field when you put marijuana in your body.

Of course, it is possible that you agree with these conclusions about the inadvisability of smoking this substance, but it’s important to clarify exactly why marijuana is a problem, because otherwise, the argument about it can get sidetracked. For example…

One of the reasons often given for avoiding marijuana is the argument that it is illegal, — at least at the time of this writing — and therefore, it must be a bad substance. There are historical reasons for marijuana’s illegality, having mostly to do with the economics of hemp.

As is well known, hemp is an inexpensive replacement for paper, for oil, and for many other products. In other words, legal hemp would be an economic competitor in various industries. It is for that reason that various large industries seek to demonize marijuana, so that public opinion will continue to believe that marijuana and hemp must be kept illegal.

Yet another reason claimed by those who hold negative views about marijuana is that it is not as safe as alcohol. The spiritual problems with alcohol can be detected through subtle energy sensing, and there are unfortunate similarities between alcohol and marijuana, especially in how they both adversely affect the aura and the soul. In spite of the obvious differences in how people drinking and smoking behave, the basic issue remains the same…

Marijuana and alcohol interfere with the connection between the body and the soul, and both substances, in their own way, create a dissociated condition that interferes with spiritual growth and well-being.

There are various arguments that marijuana proponents make to support their choice, and they are all based upon beliefs that seem, at first, to be acceptable. However, the essential problem with marijuana is that it creates a split between the body and the soul. This is something that can be detected with subtle sensing, and so those who have not developed this sensing ability will probably entertain doubt about these assertions. I am not the only energy-sensitive person who detects these issues, and so I am going to describe them as I sense them, and you can reach your own conclusions.

Marijuana proponents say that smokers tend to be peaceful, in contrast to alcohol drinkers. Though this can be observed easily enough, it still doesn’t validate the use of a substance that creates an energetically fragmented condition in the aura. I observe that the fragmented aura condition of marijuana smokers keeps them seemingly peaceful, but at a price. The fuzzy aura condition of smokers keeps them from fully feeling their emotions, and when you understand this, it reveals a different, and somewhat less happy explanation regarding their preferred emotional suppression method.

When people have emotions or thoughts that are troubling, they tend to want to leave their body so that they won’t have to feel their discomforts. People wanting to not feel their feelings have some popular choices. They can drink alcohol, they can eat sugar and junk food, they can space out in front of the television — which is known to induce a quasi-meditative alpha state — or they can smoke marijuana. All of these choices create a fragmented energy field, in which the clarity of the aura is compromised.

The alleged peacefulness of smokers is their convenient excuse. They may feel more peaceful than they would if they weren’t smoking, but unfortunately, they are not transcending their pain in any useful way. Their escape from emotional discomfort is temporary. This means that they can’t really address the pain, and that leads to a problem. If you can’t address something, because you don’t feel it anymore, then you have to keep pushing the denied emotions down, so that they are out of your conscious awareness.

This may explain the notion that marijuana is not physically addictive, but is psychologically addictive. After all, if you need to keep smoking in order to not feel what you don’t want to feel, then that may well be a psychological addiction.

The popular expression with marijuana smokers that smoking helps them “take the edge off” is a euphemism that hides the emotional pain they seek to avoid. And to be fair, it is reasonable to acknowledge that emotional pain can be frightening, and that confronting it takes a great deal of courage and determination. However, smoking isn’t going to build courage and determination.

This is because the focus required for determination is associated with a strongly linked soul and personality within a coherent aura — and marijuana interferes with that.

Ideally, the body, the emotions, the mind, and the soul are all united in a coherent energy field — your healthy aura. Uniting these aspects within yourself is key to being aligned with your true self, so that you can do the things that you came to this lifetime to do. Anything that muddies the clarity of your aura is slowing your progress on all levels. It is better to be clear in your perception– even if this involves challenging realizations — so that you can confront your emerging feelings and thoughts, rather than hide in a fragmented, diffused understanding of yourself.

You could imagine your soul as the eternal divine essence of your being. Your soul carries the spark of the creator, and so your soul is your connection to higher spiritual awareness. Ideally, your body, heart, mind, personality, and soul link as one, with the soul being your cosmic cohering energy presence — the divine glue that holds you together.

When your divine soul is integrated with your body, you become more conscious about how you treat your body. When your soul is able to shine into your emotions and mind, you can achieve a unified level of consciousness that lets you confront issues. You can move in a positive direction in your life. Marijuana disrupts this unity, and creates a muddy aura that short-circuits your spiritual empowerment.

Another concern with this substance is that it mimics spiritual experiences, but actually interferes with spiritual realization. To understand how that happens, imagine the spectrum of consciousness as a range of vibrations. At the lowest part of the awareness scale, there is low, unaware consciousness. At the highest level of the awareness scale, there is cosmic consciousness, or divine consciousness.

Now suppose that a person is stuck in a narrow, exclusively earth-bound level of perception. Such a person might find that marijuana helps them feel and see beyond their narrow material range of perceptions. And that seems impressive, at first. It even seems to suggest that marijuana might be a consciousness expanding substance.

The problem, however, is that marijuana can, in a limited way, seem to help those who are stuck in a narrow materialistic perspective. It seems, at first, to give them a more expanded view of the universe. However, this benefit is limited by marijuana’s intrinsically lesser quality of vibration. When a substance keeps you at an intermediate level of consciousness, then try as you might, you will be chemically limited from attaining higher states of spiritual realization.

The so-called consciousness-expanding benefits of marijuana are only somewhat broader than the narrow materialistic worldview of the uptight, tense person. This means that when a person who feels rigid or stuck smokes, they get a temporarily expanded sense of things, and this impresses them. They believe they have a found a solution that frees them from limitation.

Unfortunately, marijuana has only raised their consciousness somewhat. Especially troubling is that the marijuana, though seeming to raise the consciousness a bit, keeps the smoker at a level of awareness that is only somewhat expanded beyond the lower materialistic range. To understand this, imagine that there is a range of consciousness between one and ten. One represents limited, stuck consciousness. Ten represents cosmic consciousness.

A person stuck at level one or two could go to level three or four with the help of marijuana. They might be impressed by this shift. As they would argue, their consciousness has been expanded, they feel more creative, and they have a broader sense of reality.

It seems like a convincing validation, until you realize that the marijuana is keeping them from going above level four. And this is the problem with marijuana that smokers would rather not consider.

In addition, the marijuana inhibits their ability to heal their own problems — their level one and two problems, so to speak. These are the energy blocks that they were trying to escape. However, unaddressed problems stay stuck. Your ability to honestly sense your own energy blocks is a vital element in your self healing.

You are a spiritual being — your soul is made from the eternal cosmic essence of the creator.

You incarnated to bring your eternal soul into the experience of this lifetime. To receive the light of your soul, you need to create a fit physical vehicle that can be in harmony with your soul. In spite of the claims of marijuana proponents, marijuana cannot provide you with assistance if you want to progress spiritually.

The popular claim that marijuana generates peacefulness is based on a limited definition of what peace is — peace is not merely the absence of strife or violence. This limited definition of peace leads people to pay a spiritual price that isn’t worth the alleged benefits — your soul alignment is worth more than any temporary peace. And when you realize that this so-called peace is just a dissociated condition that ultimately inhibits your well-being, you may be empowered to re-examine this topic with a deeper understanding

If there were no other options for attaining inner peace, or for dealing with your emotions, then the beliefs of marijuana proponents might be convincing, but there are, in fact, many options:

– Learning to feel your feelings is a powerful teaching that builds strength in many levels of your being. It’s not always easy, and often not fun, but when you gently breathe through your feelings you discover that you are stronger than your fears.

– Learning to question your automatic self-talk lets you get out of the mental and emotional loops that can trap you in negativity. Learning to talk to yourself in an empowering way puts you, metaphorically, in the driver’s seat of your life, rather than in the back seat with your subconscious patterns in control of the steering wheel.

– Learning to move and exercise, by whatever means you choose, gives you an option to raise your vibration every day, so that your feelings and thoughts don’t sink down to the lowest levels of your problems.

– Learning to meditate, visualize, concentrate, and create a coherent aura helps you discover your true spiritual identity as a multidimensional being. Spiritual practices empower you to live in alignment with your true divine identity, so that you are less affected by the negative influences from the media, from other people, and from the world in general. You observe the world with a deeper wisdom that expresses your true self.

One spiritual concern with marijuana use is that it causes users to get stuck in an intermediate spiritual dimension known as the astral plane. These intermediate dimensions of consciousness, though not bad in themselves, are the levels of illusion. Although ideally the astral dimensions are levels of consciousness in which you can invent and create, such dimensions are only safe for you if you are also aligned with higher levels of divine consciousness. Without this higher divine alignment, the astral plane is merely the plane of illusion.

This is important to you if spiritual awareness is your goal. I don’t pretend that this article will change the minds of those who are committed to using marijuana, although I do hope that any user will consider the options to using a spiritually negative substance.

But what if you are undecided about this topic, and spiritual awakening is important to you? Have you let yourself be impressed with the glamorous images presented in the media, in which creative people or celebrities are associated with marijuana use? It is to you that this article is specifically written, because glamorous images are only superficial descriptions of a false reality — that is, they are not real.

False images are reflections of the astral plane — the dimension of illusion. And when millions of people hold false images, the effect can be powerful. Fortunately, even powerful false images can be seen for what they are — fake realities that only interfere with spiritual awareness. When you have real spiritual experiences that integrate you, uniting your body, heart, mind, and soul with your spiritual potential, then you build clarity in your consciousness. You learn to recognize fake realities as superficial images with no spiritual core.

Spiritual realization is something that you develop over time. It is not something you can put on like a coat, or take like a pill, and for this reason, you want to develop your spiritual awareness as a daily practice. In the same way that you can build physical muscles through exercise, you can build spiritual strength through cultivating your awareness. One of the benefits of a regular spiritual practice is that your alignment with your soul wisdom grows. And this lets you see illusions as the deceptions that they really are.

When you don’t have a spiritual means of connecting with your soul, you can be easily influenced by the powerful distorted energy fields of millions of people who are trapped in fake illusions. And marijuana doesn’t help you grow or evolve beyond that, because it gives the illusion of expanded consciousness, while trapping you at a merely intermediate level of consciousness. It claims to take you beyond the average state of human consciousness, and then leaves you at a muddy, intermediate level.

And the energy at that intermediate level, I notice, is sticky. That might sound a bit strange, but the aura quality of marijuana smokers is sticky, fuzzy, and open to entities. That is the opposite of the brightness and clarity associated with those who are in alignment with their divine soul.

But no matter where you are in your spiritual development, whether you are smoking or not, you can always make the choice to move in a healthier direction each day. In the same way that the public is moving towards the realization that healthy food is better than junk food, and in the same way that the public is moving towards the understanding that exercise makes you feel more alive, so too are people becoming aware that anything that interferes with their soul development is to be avoided.

If you’re already moving in the direction of seeking healthy food choices and exploring exercise, then you are able to appreciate how negative substances can interfere with your vibration. When you consider how a seemingly popular substance, marijuana, can lower your spiritual vibration, it invites you to make some new healthy choices. Anything that disrupts your body-soul unity is worth avoiding. It’s time to tune in to your true divine essence, and make some healthy decisions for yourself.

Your essence is made of divine substance. If you want to feel your aliveness, then realize that your emotions, your thoughts, and your body all need to be aligned with your soul — so that you can be truly alive on all levels. And that may mean, at times, that you will feel emotions or thoughts that you don’t enjoy. However, you can learn to breathe through your challenges. You can learn to stabilize and integrate your mind-body-spirit energy. You can learn to bring the divine light of your soul — and the cosmic intelligence of the universe — into your life.

And when you align in this way, you get a sense of what it means to be in tune with the cosmos. You can feel in alignment with the eternal vibration of the creator, humming within you. You are in alignment with the truth of your being, which is a spiritual vibration that is alive in the deepest sense of the word. It is the higher consciousness that is capable of knowing its true infinite nature.

And you want to be aligned with that infinite universal consciousness, because it is who you are — you are one with the source of all reality. Breathe it into your being. It is the true elixir that you can partake of every day. Let every breath unite you with the aliveness that wants to vibrate joyously within your every cell. Welcome to this moment.

Vestibular Disease in Dogs: Causes, Symptoms, Diagnosis and Treatment

Vestibular system aids in providing equilibrium and a sense of spatial orientation to dogs. But a dysfunction can have serious effects on the balance systems of the dog's body. This system includes the parts of the inner ear and brain, which are responsible for the balance and eye movements. If the network is damaged by illness, aging, or injury, serious disorders can result, and are often associated with one or more of these signs, among others: Vertigo and dizziness.

There are two types of this disorder in dogs:

  • Central Vestibular Disorder
  • Peripheral Vestibular Disorder

The first one is less common but more serious form of this disease that originates inside the central nervous system.

The second type of this disease happens when there is annoyance to the nerves connecting the inner ear with the brain. This results in failure of balance and other symptoms resulting in vertigo and dizziness. This illness can look to be quite melodramatic to the dog owner if this is the first time the dog has been affected. But most of the times the dog recovers with supportive care and treatment.

Causes

  • Chronic and perennial inner and middle ear infections

Congenital Vestibular disease is seen between birth and three months of age. Certain dogs are more predisposed to this condition, including Doberman Pinschers, English Cocker Spaniel, Beagle, German Shepherd, Tibetan Terrier and Smooth Fox Terrier.

This disorder is often mistaken as a stroke. The vertigo originated by this disease has an adverse effect on older dogs having symptoms like difficulty to stand up, circling, nystagmus, nausea, and head tilt. Older dogs are more stressed out due to this disease and so there is a need reduce their stress through earthy calming agents like amino acid, L-theanine and herbs including hops, Valerian, chamomile, and passionflower. Other remedies, including GABA, flower essences, tryptophan, and Homeopathics are also good in calming overwhelmed dogs.

Diagnosis

The veterinarian would conduct a physical examination to determine whether the disorder is peripheral or central. In case, a peripheral form of the condition is found, the veterinarian would use an otoscope to look deep into the ears of the pet. There are times when X-rays would be required. The veterinarian would also take the aid of blood tests, culture, sensitivity and cytology to get rid of other likely causes of specific symptoms. For tumors and polyps your veterinarian would propose a surgical biopsy. In case the central Vestibular disease is determined, the veterinarian would use an MRI or CT scan along with spinal fluid taps to find the root cause. If it is due to infection, then it has to be resolved.

Treatment

It is possible to alleviate nausea and vomiting with motion sickness treatments, but there is no specific treatment to manage Congenital Vestibular Disease. For middle or inner ear infection, antibiotics might be required to improve the condition. In case an under-active thyroid is the reason, the disorder will get resolved when the metabolic condition is managed precisely. If the treatment is the root cause then discontinuing the treatment can bring about complete resolution. But there are times when there can be some residual hearing failure. To completely cure this situation, the veterinarian would remove the polyps, but if there are cancerous tumors, then the conclusion is generally less positive.

This disease has a poor prognosis than peripheral form as a result of potential dangers to the brain stem that can be quite devastating. If there is an infection found, it has to be treated. In case of an inflammatory condition, it may react to treatment at first, but it can advance to a point where it could be untreatable. But the most common form of Vestibular disease – the peripheral form – improves swiftly, once the inherent cause is addressed and symptoms of vertigo are managed with supportive care.
